In the used car business, especially when buyers are looking to purchase cars sight-unseen, it goes a long way to building trust with clients by showing them additional parts of the vehicles they purchased and what they can address. Let's dig a little further into what makes the difference here at Japan Carrier.
Usually, this sort of yard picture is the only type that a purchasing party receives, very similar to the Dealer stock listed on car websites like Goo-Net. This shows an overall view of the car, and you'd assume initially looking at these photos that the car is without fault! However, we look closely at our customers' cars and do a deep dive on the condition in order to give our clients the best service possible.
Starting with this front corner, we wanted to confirm that the lenses on the fog lamps were intact, as these often get cracked. While we were doing that, we also noted that the headlights have a bit of yellowing and there are some paint chips around the fog lamp on the left side.
Looking closely at the engine bay, as oftentimes dealers and auction houses do not provide this in-depth of a look at the mechanicals! The Engine by itself is dry, with no visible oil seepage around the head gasket and intact belts, but the exhaust intake heat shield is quite rusty. Definitely something a buyer would want to know for their JDM sportscar.
Moving to the rear end, we can see some rust marks around the base of the rear wing. Looking closely at it, we were able to determine that this is a structural flaw on the Lancer Evolution VI wing where water can get inside of the wing structure and rust out the wing structure! This is definitely information that a seller of the vehicle would want to know. Fortunately, we are also able to make body repairs and will rebuild the wing as customer requested!
On the rear glass, some separation of the film material. This would not have been discovered unless we were inspecting so closely!
Same for the peeling material on the seam here.
And then some more cosmetic flaws, the sun fade on this center pillar is quite obvious when looking closely! Something that we can address with a fresh coat of paint.
Last, the famous drivers' seat wear on the side bolstering. This wasn't obvious in the original photos, but with Japan Carrier's inspection, we have a clear photo of the damage to show for the customer.
