Used Car Import Regulations in Myanmar
Myanmar accepts only left-hand drive vehicles; private cars are limited to 2024–2025 models and commercial vehicles to 2021–2025 models. Customs duty is 30–40% depending on displacement.

Import Eligibility
Designated model years:
• Private cars: 2024–2025 models only
• Commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, etc.): 2021–2025 models
• Fire engines, ambulances, etc.: 2016 or later
Heavy machinery allowed if within 15 years
EVs allowed in limited numbers under a 2025 pilot quota
Import Duties & Taxes
Customs duty at fixed rates by engine displacement:
0–1,350cc: 30%
1,350–2,000cc: 40%
2,000–5,000cc: 40%
5,000cc and above: 40%
Commercial tax (CT) 25%
Specific goods tax (from 10% for large vehicles)
2% advance income tax
Vehicle Condition
Both new and used vehicles within the model-year requirement are allowed
